GUI Demonstrations

These are just some simple demos of what some general purpose PageBlocks tags looks like and do. Eventually I'll fold these pages into the Features/Tour section.

Record List Objects

The list of records used in the Reference section is drawn dynamically as a result of a simple configuration file. Color schemes and text styles are all driven by CSS. The sorting functionality is all automated. Search parameters are automatically restored for each resorting of the list, and POST forms or GET links to sort, view, edit, and delete are all automatically written using the programmer's specified graphics and URL construction.

Stylized Web Form Markup

A text markup system can be used in standard web forms fields to allow web site administrators to stylize text, include links, and embed images without learning HTML, and without exposing your system to JavaScript injection. The text stylizing of both the Features section and the Reference details section are done completely with this markup system. To enable users that are familiar with HTML, and pose no security threat, it is also possible to allow HTML in place of the PageBlocks stylize tags.

ValueLists

Tags are available to create popups, checkboxes, radio buttons, and listboxes from lists or arrays supplied in text files, variables, fields, or literal strings. A number of options for display and item selection are provided.

Strings, Dates, Numbers

A number of tags are available to manipulate strings, dates, numbers, phone numbers, and more into useful formats with tags that either supplement what Lasso does not provide, or are easier to use than the native Lasso tags.

Text Menus and AutoRollover

Horizontal and vertical text menus are easily created with simple configuration files or from arrays. Several configuration options provide for flexibility in display. Additionally, the legacy AutoRollover graphic menu custom type automates the writing of JavaScript and HTML for rollover navigation systems and menus. The system automatically locates and even combines global and module menu definitions to completely automate dynamic rollover menu systems. Multiple independent menus per page are supported. The JavaScript based version is now deprecated and will eventually be replaced with a CSS-centric system.
